Democrats Split Big Wins in Kentucky & Oregon

Hillary wins big in Kentucky, and Obama answers with a landslide victory in Oregon. At some point along the way Senator Barack Obama successfully clinched the majority of pledged delegates, subsequently beginning to hammer the last nail into the Clinton campaign coffin. Here are the numbers, and a break down of exit polls, which may surprise you.

The polls are closed in Kentucky and votes are being counted in Oregon, and it’s clear that tonight we have reached a major milestone on this journey.

We have won an absolute majority of all the delegates chosen by the people in this Democratic primary process.

Here are some interesting numbers from the Kentucky exit polls:

  • 56% of the states Democrats told exit polls that they believe Barack Obama will in fact become the Democratic nominee.

Yes: 16% (79% Clinton, 19% Obama)
No: 82% (63% Clinton, 33% Obama)

Yes: 21% (81% Clinton, 16% Obama)
No: 78% (61% Clinton, 35% Obama)

Some interesting and contrasting numbers from the Oregon exit polls:

No College Degree: 54% (48% Clinton, 51% Obama)
College Graduate: 46% (43% Clinton, 65% Obama)

Yes: 17% (56% Clinton, 44% Obama)
No: 83% (39% Clinton, 60% Obama)
